- Servicing tips for the...
In the quest for economical driving options amidst the ever increasing vehicle prices and fuel costs, many choose to purchase a Volkswagen because of the brand’s reputation for sturdy design and efficient fuel economy.
If you own a Volkswagen, you know that you also need to find yourself an authorized Volkswagen Service center for all your requirements and that’s the end of the debate there, because if you are to maintain the Volkswagen standard of your car, you better be sure that it is in safe hands.
Keeping your Volkswagen running in the top condition requires skilful driving and even better maintenance, by experienced dealers like the PPS Motors’ Volkswagen Service Center in Kukatpally.
We have a full service center with knowledgeable technicians who devote themselves to tending to any issues that need to be resolved and help you with whatever you may need, whether it’s a simple fix or an overhaul. Now, here are few tips that might come in handy when you take your car to the next servicing session-
Tyre pressure, irregular wearing and Rotation –
In case of a weather change or if you happen to notice even a remotely flat tyre, it’s best to ensure that the tyre pressure is at an optimal level. Replacing the lost air in car tires is a crucial part of maintaining fuel economy and lengthening the life of your tyres.
Though sometimes you might not be able to tell just by looking, it is a fact that tyres don’t wear out evenly throughout your drive. The rear tyres provide the driving force while staying planted on the ground as you drive, which means that they tend to wear evenly. However, the rear tyres tilt and swivel, as you make sharp turns. This leads to more wear on the outer edges.
Rotating your tyres diagonally from one side to the other will help them wear evenly and last longer. It is a good idea to keep them rotating so you can keep your wheels on the road, since they don’t really come cheap.
Oil Change –
Your car’s oil is its lifeblood: your engine is full of moving parts and oil helps those parts slip and slide instead of rubbing and wearing down. Without oil, these parts will rub and eventually your engine will break apart. The oil helps keep the friction down and over time burns off with the heat of your engine and needs to be replaced.
Although It’s a widely known fact that the car oil needs to be changed about every 3,000 miles, but the good news is that most modern cars, though they still need plenty of love and attention, don’t need quite as many oil changes. The newer cars can go up to 7,000 miles between oil changes, depending on recommendation and driving habits. The best way to determine this period between oil change is to look at the manual, but there are a few more things to keep in mind. Your car’s engine must work harder when you do lots of stopping and starting, so if you do lots of (or even a pinch of) city driving, you’ll need to change your oil more frequently. The same is true before and after going on long road trips.

Lights-
If you’ve had to deal with a broken or burnt-out light on your car, you probably know the need to get it fixed as soon as possible. Even when you’re driving on roads with ample light, it’s important to have functioning lights you can rely upon. The Front and Rear lights serve a host of purposes that are easily forgotten but are incredibly important. Besides providing a source of communication with the other drivers on the road through your blinkers and brake lights, your car’s lights illuminate your way on the road and tell other drivers going the same and the opposite direction where you are on the road and how much space they need to give you.
While we all hope that every driver is responsible and operates his or her vehicle with common courtesy and within the law, this isn’t always true. When you’re sharing the road with one such driver, or just someone who’s running late or couldn’t find their glasses, you want to make sure that they know exactly where you are on the road.
We hope you found these tips useful for when you hit the nearest Volkswagen Service Station next time and wish long happy journeys.
